As stated by the vice president in the FFA Opening and Closing Ceremonies, “The plow is the symbol of labor and tillage of the soil. Without labor, neither knowledge nor wisdom can accomplish much. My duties require me to assist at all times indirecting the work of our organization. I preside over meetings in the absence of our president, whose place is beneath the rising sun.” This is just a brief description of the responsibilities that a chapter vice president holds. Read along and get to know your 2024-2025 Laverne FFA Chapter Vice President, Timber Baker.
Timber will be a senior this upcoming year at Laverne High School. Timber is involved in the Laverne First Baptist Youth Group, Laverne Student Council, Laverne Yearbook, and working at her two jobs.
Timber wanted to join FFA to learn more about the agriculture industry and to make more friends. Once she had joined FFA she fell in love with the organization and now participates in many FFA activities such as prepared public speaking, shooting sports, welding, and many others. Timbers favorite FFA memories include the long car trips where everyone listens to music and takes good naps.
FFA has taught Timber many things such as how to get out of her shell, make friends, and be a leader. Timber wanted to run for a chapter office so that she could make an impact on her chapter and community as well as help to lead and push others to be great.
Mrs. Cyndi Bentley once told Timber that she is exactly where God wants her to be. This sentence is inspiring to Timber. Some of Timbers favorites include the color green, writing, and reading. Timbers biggest inspiration in life is her mother, Halley because she has always been a good example and encourages Timber throughout every step of her life. Timber says she would not be the person she is today without the life lessons her mom has taught her and for that Timber is forever thankful.
Her friends describe her as funny, caring, and a leader. Your 2024-2025 Laverne FFA Chapter Vice President, Timber Baker.
