Get To Know Your Officers: Secretary Camdyn Kolbe

In the FFA Opening and Closing Ceremonies the secretary states, “I keep an accurate record of all meetings and correspond with other secretaries wherever corn is grown and FFA members meet.” This gives a brief description of the duties held by a chapter secretary. Read along and get to know your 2024-2025 Laverne FFA Chapter Secretary, Camdyn Kolbe. 

Camdyn will be a junior this upcoming year at Laverne High School. Camdyn is involved in many activities such as, Laverne Baptist Church Youth Group, Oklahoma Club Calf Association in which she serves on the junior board,National Junior Hereford Association, and the Junior Angus Association.

When asked why Camdyn joined FFA she said that it is something she grew up around and always knew she wanted to be a part of. The people she met and memories she made before she was in FFA only made her excitement grow for what this organization had in store for her. Inside of FFA Camdyn participates in livestock judging, livestock showing, prepared public speaking, as well as many other activities. Camdyns favorite FFA memory was playing hide and seek at Big 3 with another chapter. 

Camdyn says FFA taught her many things but most importantly FFA has taught Camdyn how to be a leader in all aspects of her life. She also feels that FFA has helped her to become a better public speaker and pushed her out of her comfort zone. Camdyn ran for a chapter office this year because she has always wanted to serve her chapter. Some of her goals as a chapter officer are to involve more of the younger members and for the chapter to be competitive and successful in everything they do. 

A quote that inspires Camdyn is “Talent might make you good but your attitude and work ethic will make you great.” Some other of Camdyn’s favorite things include the food steak and hanging out with her livestock. Camdyn says her biggest inspiration is her mom because she always pushes Camdyn to be better.
