From traveling across the state to performing well in the classroom September has been very busy and very plentiful. Read along and take a walk through the successes of the Laverne FFA Chapter this month.
Starting off on September 9th the chapter traveled to Guymon for the Panhandle Expo Livestock Judging. Kylen Kamp placed first in the senior division and the Laverne Senior FFA Team was second. The Harper County Fair also began that day. At the fair, Laverne FFA had many placing exhibits as well as lots of success in the show ring.
On September 11th Laverne Shooting Sports held their annual meet and had many successes such as two 2nd places and two 3rd places. The next day on September 12th the Laverne FFA Officer Team took a trip to Taloga for the annual Red Carpet Classic Livestock Show. This show allows for children that are in special education classes at schools in the surrounding communities to come for a fun day of showing animals and meeting new people.
The next activity was a shooting sports meet in Fort Supply on September 20th. On September 21st the Laverne FFA Livestock Judging teams headed to OKC for the Oklahoma City State Fair Livestock Judging where they had a successful and fun day.
The next stop was the Northwest Area Chapter Officer Leadership Training (COLT) Conference in Enid on September 26th. This conference is held every year by the Oklahoma State Officer Team and focuses on developing leadership qualities in chapter officers. COLT Conference is always a great experience and a very fun time.
In the last few days of this month the shooting sports team traveled to Woodward for the Woodward FFA Shooting Sports Contest and came home after another great day of friends and FFA. Lastly for the month of September on the 25th the Laverne FFA traveled all the way to Morrison for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and Greenhand Quiz Competition. The Laverne FFA placed 5th in their room.
This month has finally drawn to a close after trips across the state and many laughs. September was full of success, which is something to be very proud of. Thank you to the Laverne ag teachers who graciously provided these opportunities. Bring it on October were ready for you
