In the FFA Opening and Closing Ceremonies the treasurer states, “I keep record of receipts and disbursements just as Washington kept his farm accounts – carefully and accurately. I encourage thrift among the members and strive to build up our financial standing through savings and investments. Timber will be a junior at Laverne High School this fall. Outside of FFA Timber spends her time participating in many other activities such as, Laverne Tiger Band, Lady Tiger Softball, Laverne Student Council, Laverne FCCLA, and working at her job. When asked why she decided to join FFA, Timber said, “ I wanted to join FFA because my best friend was and it sounded fun.” Since then Timber has been very active in FFA. Timber is involved in the shooting sports team, giving speeches, and welding.
The best memory Timber has during her time in the blue corduroy jacket is always listening to music super loud on the way to and from CDE’s. A personal favorite artist listened to on these bus rides is Taylor Swift.
Timber’s interest in becoming an officer started the moment she fell in love with FFA. FFA has been a huge part of her life for the past three years. Timber feels that FFA has impacted her in many ways. The lessons FFA has taught her are something she strives to share with everyone in the Laverne FFA Chapter. Timber is excited to serve her chapter this upcoming year. As an officer setting personal and chapter goals is a great way to start. Timber’s goals for this year are to make her chapter feel like a home to each and every member, because she believes there is just the right spot for everyone in FFA. She would also like to get more kids to become involved and help them to fall in love with it as she did. “There is so much more to FFA than what people assume and that's something I want to help people discover.” Timber said.
Timbers free time is spent doing one of her absolute favorite things, hanging out with her little brother. Timbers favorite inspiring quote is “Anybody can quit. Only a real champion and a person of character and strength can keep going and refuse to give up. - Sadie Robertson’’ Timber’s favorite movie is definitely the Goonies because of the message it sends on how to have strong friendships, and that as a team you can conquer anything.
