LAVERNE FFA HOSTS ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET

On May 10, 2022 the Laverne FFA hosted their annual awards banquet. The annual awards banquet was a way for the chapter to recognize the accomplishments of its members and the students enrolled in agricultural education. FFA Chapter President, Kolby Kamp, welcomed the guests and FFA chapter Chaplain, Kenna Vaughan, gave the invocation. The banquet was kicked off by the 2021-2022 FFA Officer Team presenting the opening ceremonies followed by Caroline Snider singing The Star Spangled Banner. The chapter’s creed contestants, Royce Henricks, Ben Scott, Selah Bentley, Kylen Kamp, and Caroline Snider, presented the FFA Creed.
During the banquet the chapter initiated 23 Discovery FFA members. Those that received the Discovery Degree were Noel Almandarez, Gabriel Bennett, Cy Bentley, Trex Carnagey, Cooper Crissup, Jaxon Davis, Gracin Drake, Jaycee Estep, Janssen Garcia, Jovani Gonzalez, Shane Goodwin, Xander Graves, Parker Hinkle, Camdyn Kolbe, Chandler Lennington, Taylor Lewis, Bronc Maynes, Luis Rodriguez, Kinsley Shaffer, Talan Sutton, and Wyatt Tillery.
Those that received the Greenhand Degree were Edwin Ajanel, Timber Baker, Selah Bentley, Jentri Becher, Tyler Cook, Marcos De La Torre, Victor Enriquez, Korbin Evans, Tripp Green, Royce Henricks, Tayden Hope, Landon Hubbard, Kylen Kamp, Grayson Lovell, Tatum Nielson, Edmilson Perez Carreto, Tanner Petrick, Ben Scott, Caroline Snider, Felix Teal, Atlee Tillery, Serenity Walker, Paola Ortega, Rache Creed, Decymber Evans, Erick Perez, Emilio Juarez, and Jonathan Guarjardo.
Those that received the Chapter Degree were Putman Tucker, Kresta Badley, William Everett, Tyson Helmuth, Jake Evans, Riley Mack, Dallin Jolley, and Jarrett McAtee. The only recipient of the State FFA Degree was Kolby Kamp.
Winning Star awards for the night were Camdyn Kolbe for the Star FFA Discovery Award, Kylen Kamp for the Star FFA Greenhand Award, and Kolby Kamp for the Star FFA Chapter Award.
Proficiency Award winners include; Xander Graves - Grain Production Placement; Kolby Kamp - Swine Production; Kenna Vaughan - Agriscience; Kolby Kamp - Diversified Livestock Production
The Honorary Chapter FFA Degree was presented to Tyler and Amanda Kamp. The Honorary State FFA Degree was presented to David Jett. The Distinguished Business Award was presented to Smithfield Foods for their continued support and dedication to the Laverne FFA Chapter.
We concluded our Laverne FFA Awards Banquet by electing the new 2022-2023 FFA Officer Team. President, Sam Scott; Vice President, Kresta Badley; Secretary, Whitley Cash; Reporter, Putman Tucker; Treasurer, Kylen Kamp; Sentinel, Kenna Vaughan; Chaplin, Kaitlin Vaughan.
