My name is Mike Shipley, and I am married to Liz Shipley.  We are originally from the Oklahoma City metro area, as I graduated from Carl Albert (Midwest City) and she graduated from Choctaw.  We have seven children and enjoy spending quality family time together as much as possible.

I have been the Technology Director for both Shattuck and Laverne Schools since the 2013-14 school year.  In all, I have 22 years experience in the educational technology field.  I previously worked 13 years as a Computer/Network Technician for United Systems, whose primary business is K-12 schools, working in school districts across Oklahoma and Arkansas.  I have been involved in installations and support for hundreds of school districts, consisting of thousands of school buildings.  Prior to that position, I worked for Mid-Del Schools for 3 years as a Computer Tech/Inventory Clerk.  I hold many technology-field certifications including A+, Network+, Microsoft, CCTV, Google Basics, Dell, IBM/Lenovo, HP, and multiple student information systems.  Many members of my extended family, including both parents, are retired after many years of service with public schools.

Laverne has been a special place for me and is a great place to be.  I am excited to make contributions and input for the district to assist with progression and enhancement.  It has been rewarding to see the transformation of our district to utilizing more digital tools and resources in our classrooms than when I first started.  I look forward to working with our wonderful staff to continue the progression with future technologies still to come.
